If you are coming along to Party in the Park 2017 on Saturday 1 July 2017 in Clare Castle Country Park, why not bring your dog along too and enter the Dog Show.  It promises to be even more fun than it was last year.

This year there are five categories:

  • Most Handsome Dog
  • Prettiest Bitch
  • Sausage Race
  • Waggiest Tail
  • Dog the judge would most like to take home.

Enter as many categories as you want at only £1 per category.  Register on the day and take your dog into the arena for all to see!  All we need is your name, the name of your dog and, in the case of any handlers below the age of 16, a signed form from an adult giving permission to enter the competition.

Dog treats for every competitor!  Sweets for the children!  Rosettes for dogs in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places!  Let your dog have some fun at Party in the Park 2017.

THE CCA NEEDS YOU!

Do you have a few hours to help the CCA?  The CCA has another busy year coming up putting on a series of fund-raising events for the community of Clare.  We have a dedicated group of volunteers who regularly give a few hours of their free time to assist us put on these events but we need many more.  With another Party in the Park extravaganza taking place next summer and a number of other exciting projects, we will need all the help we can get.

There are many ways in which you can help.  We always need volunteers who can perform all manner of tasks, from physical tasks at events and in the lead up to events (setting up stalls, carrying equipment, erecting gazebos and marquees etc) to less energetic, such as helping with pre-event publicity, using artistic skills, selling raffle tickets, persuading local businesses to donate items for the raffle etc.  Plenty of choice and to fit a range of abilities. In the days leading up to an event we always need volunteers with a van to move equipment around for us.  Is this something that you could assist with?

For further details, please contact Gary Brown (CCA Vice-chair and Volunteer Co-coordinator) by ringing 07718 205585 or emailing garybrown60@talktalk.net or fill in the form on this page

Clare Christmas Fair 2016 – Pictures and more…

Clare Community Association is delighted to say that the Christmas Fair went very, very well and we hope to build on that next year – we already have lots of ideas!

Lots of people through the door, lots of appreciative comments, lots of happy exhibitors and the church not only looked lovely but will benefit from the funds raised, which was the reason for the event as well as to bring some extra festive community spirit to Clare.
The CCA would like to express our sincere gratitude to Bill Perceval-Maxwell, Churchwarden, without whose tireless help and invaluable advice the fair would not have been such a great success….. and of course we offer a huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped before, during and after the event.
Here are a few images which we hope convey some of the fantastic atmosphere – although you had to be there to appreciate the music, hot chestnuts and complimentary mulled wine….
