Magna Carta Walk – Revisited
It is hard to believe that it is almost 12 months ago that some 150 of us battled the elements, and the threat of the bull in the first field, to complete the inaugural Magna Carta Walk.
Despite these traumas, several people suggested making it an annual event and so the second annual Magna Carta Walk will take place on Saturday 11 June, meeting at the Memorial Hall in Castle Hedingham at 10 am, ready to meet up with people from Hedingham.
We are not expecting the same numbers as last year and it will be organised more informally, with people making their own way to Hedingham for the walk back.
The chosen date is close to the 801st anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta, and also acts as a prelude to the festivities being organised by Clare Community Association on the following day to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday (please see attached flyer for details). To whet your appetite and as a reminder I attach an electronic version of the walk leaflet.
Whilst this is being organised as a “turn up on the day” event, it would be good to have some idea of numbers so, if you are intending to come along, please could you let me know by return e-mail? If you would like to come, but are stuck for a lift to Hedingham, let me know and I’ll see what can be arranged.
